3. Increasing the social, integrative and spiritual elements of end of life care

There has been tremendous progress in many aspects of end of life care.  Pain management has advanced.  Hospice is seen as a normal and necessary part of the health care system.  Palliative care is increasingly part of medical treatment.

Imbedded within Santa Barbara’s end of life care community is a deep understanding that end of life care is more than medical care and includes strong integrated, spiritual and social elements.  We look to fund both excellent examples of integrated care and efforts to improve and then apply the integrated and spiritual skill sets of local care providers.
